Being Aware of Being Aware

Being Aware of Being Aware

This blog can change your life,  on how you think,  and your business.

If it doesn't,  you have not understood the blog, or dont want to take it seriously.

Being Aware of Being Aware” is the Highest Possible Meditation. All other Meditations involve being
focused on objective reality. This could be your breath, mantra, music, enjoying your work,  study, having fun,
sexual pleasure, contemplation, etc.

Let’s think about this and see why?
Whatever we are experiencing we are aware of it! This can never be denied.
Being aware is the constant element in all experience.
Everything else we are aware of is always appearing and disappearing.

How long does a thought, sensation, etc, last?
Not very long. How long does anything last?
The thought we had now does not last, it is replaced by another thought, it may come back, and so is every feeling,
sensations, or perception.

What never changes and is eternal?

The being aware part of all this is the only element of our experience that never changes.
What is that element of awareness that never changes?
It’s just the simple experience of "being aware of being aware" that remains, constant, unchanging,
and it's never affected by what we are aware of.

A simple analogy is the space in a room.
No matter what happens to all objects in a room, including the building enclosing the room, the space can never be destroyed.
Awareness is like the space in this metaphor.
(but don't think awareness is like space as space is also an objective experience)

The Movie and the Screen

Another simple metaphor is the movie and the screen.
Does the TV Screen care what movie is playing?
No, The screen is the constant unchanging part in the movie.
Equate the screen to “awareness” and the "action movie" to all your objective experiences in your life.

We are so fascinated and completely immersed in the experience of the world, in the experience of feelings,
repetitive thoughts, sensations, perceptions, state of our body, images, sights, sounds taste, etc,
(the movie playing on the screen), that we overlook the simple experience of being aware. (the screen that the movie plays on).

Who is "I"

What is the common name we give to the experience of being aware?  Its “I”.
“I’ is the name we give to that which is aware of our experience.
It’s the unchanging element that runs consistently though all our experience.

The Highest Mediation

So, the highest Mediation is just "being aware of being aware" and it’s a process to not give attention to any object.
In some ways it’s the relaxing of our attention towards the world that can brings us closer to the experience
of the awareness of being aware.
All other Meditations involve focus on an object, as mentioned before..
Meditation involving "being aware of being aware" does not involve focus on any objects,
and hence why its called the highest possible meditation.

Reference Videos to help you understand

For a more in depth understanding of most important concept ever to be known about our
existence refer to the original fundamental untainted messages from Jesus Christ,
Buddha,  enlightened  sages through history, Ramana Maharshi for example, all the
christian and non christian saints (from India), and all enlightened spiritual teachers.

Try listening to a short 4 min video by Eckhart Tolle shown below.
Or Try listening to more serious videos by Rupert Spira shown below.
It's all simple, fun to listen to, and clear and obvious.

Get your head around this

"It is impossible to experience the appearance of awareness.
We are that awareness to which such an appearance would occur.
We have no experience of a beginning to the awareness that is seeing these words.
We have no experience of its birth. We have no experience that we, awareness is born at any time."

Likewise, in order to claim legitimately that awareness dies, something would have to be present to experience its disappearance.
Have we ever experienced the disappearance of awareness? If we think the answer is, ‘Yes’, then what is it that is present
and aware to experience the apparent disappearance of awareness?

Read this ten times!

Whatever that is, it must be aware and present. It must be awareness.
When we are born or when we wake in the morning, we have the experience of the appearance of objects.
When we die and when we fall asleep at night, unless we dream or fall into new world of objects,
we will have the experience of the disappearance of objects.
However, we have no experience that we, awareness, appears, is born, or disappears or dies.
This is the essence of all the source of all religions, this is the source of who we are,
this is the most overlooked message in human history, this is the source of all truths.
Not understanding this means you have missed the most important fundamental attribute
on who you are and what your destiny is!

Pause, What happens when you have dreamless sleep

When you're in deep sleep (dreamless sleep) or your unconscious, or under anesthetic in hospital, etc,
your instinct would be to tell me you are not aware.

What proof do we have for that? How wrong could we be!
Asking such questions means you have totally misunderstood this blog.

During dreamless sleep, or when you're unconscious your mind (your brain that records memory) is not
present to record your experience hence on waking it appears 6 hours has passed at instant.
So there is nothing to remember on anything you have experienced when in dreamless sleep.
It clearly shows that space, matter and time, the world of form and objects is generated by the waking or dreaming mind.

Awareness is timeless, eternal and infinite

Basically "being aware of being aware" is timeless, eternal, infinite,  awareness is presence,
and you have always been aware, and will always be.
No need to extrapolate what happens at death. Clearly awareness persists,
and clearly awareness is not a property of the brain as the brain dies with the body.
We are made of awareness, not the other way round. The brain does not create awareness,
awareness has always been present.
Your body and the world is an image in your mind and awareness observes it.

Beyond the world of form and objects is the ever present "awareness", the experience of "being aware of being aware".
This concept forms the basis of existence, the source of all religions.

Only Consciousness is Conscious

Note: I am equating "Awareness" with "Consciousness" here.
But, keep in mind that the "Universe is NOT conscious" (Panpsychism), and neither are human beings or any life form.
"Consciousness is Conscious", and it creates every thing we know of the universe through our mind.
Our mind is a filter, and physical reality (space, matter and time) as we know unfolds through our mind.

The Hard Problem of Science: What is Consciousness?

This is fundamental.

Scientist are in conflict with regards on how to resolve and understand the "Hard problem of science".
Our current scientific models of consciousness fail because the underlying assumption is false.
Consciousness, or "Pure Consciousness, that is,  "Awareness" comes first, and then space, time and matter
and the objective universe are by products of the Mind. "The Laws of Physics" are really the "Laws of Mind".

No laws of Physics are broken. Darwinian Model of Evolution holds very well.
Einstein's Special and General Relativity suddenly makes more sense and Quantum Theory ever more so.

The underlying false assumption that matter, space and time came first and consciousness evolved from i,t is ultimately like a child's fairy tale.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence  (AI) will never create Sentient Beings that are "aware of being aware",
but for all practical purposes it can emulate every objective experience and environment the mind is able to create.
So yes AI is possible for all practical purposes that we can dream of but within the bounds of the finite "Laws of Mind".

Quotes from History

Some quotes from history that repeat the above in different ways:

The Kingdom of God is within You
"I and the Father are one"
Jesus Christ

Stop, stop. Do not speak. The ultimate truth is not even to think.”
"Deluded people don’t realize that their own awareness is the Buddha. They keep searching outside."
Buddha

I searched for God and found only myself. I searched for myself and found only God.”
"Although you appear in earthly form Your essence is pure Consciousness. You are the fearless guardian of Divine Light."
Rumi

"Earth, Moon, stars and Sun revolve inside me
"Your goal is not to battle with the mind, but to witness the mind."
 Baba Muktananda

"Atman is Brahman"
Brahman is all, and the Self is Brahman.
The Upanishads

Space and time are the framework within which the mind is constrained to construct its experience of reality.
Immanuel Kant

"When there are thoughts, it is distraction: when there are no thoughts, it is meditation."
"There is no doubt whatsoever that the universe is the merest illusion."
"You need not aspire for or get any new state. Get rid of your present thoughts, that is all."
"Who am I? Not the body, because it is decaying; not the mind, because the brain will decay with the body;
not the personality, nor the emotions, for these also will vanish with death."
Ramana Maharshi

"It's the light of awareness that renders or illuminates all experience knowable! "
And this ‘knowing’ is our self, aware presence. In other words, all that is ever experienced is
our self knowing itself, awareness aware of awareness.
”

Being Aware of Being Aware

Questioning the Matter Model - Rupert Spira

If you still a believe  that matter and universe came first, and awareness or consciousness came from it,
your need to change your belief and base your model of reality from experience and evidence.

"A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light,
but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it"
Max Planck
